Warehouse Manager
Department: Operations
Reports to: Head of Operations
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000
Hours: Full-time 42.5 hours a week, with flexibility 5 x 9 hour shifts between the opening hours of 6am - 6pm during business times.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Manager to lead and coordinate daily warehouse activities our client site in Rotherham. This role will focus on ensuring efficient processing of eCommerce orders and phone orders for our retail stores, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations
- Lead a team of warehouse operatives, providing support, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure accurate and timely picking, packing, and dispatching of eCommerce and retail orders
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including goods receipt and returns
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with inventory control to ensure accuracy
- Maintain compliance with health and safety standards at all sites
- Drive improvements in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate staffing and shift patterns to meet fluctuating order volumes
- Report daily KPIs and warehouse performance metrics to management
- Liaise with customer service, retail, and transport teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment
Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a warehouse manager or team leadership role
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes, stock control, and logistics
- Ability to manage and motivate a team
- Good IT skills, including warehouse management systems (WMS) and Excel
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Flexible and hands-on approach
Desirable:
- Experience with eCommerce and/or retail order fulfillment
- Forklift licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach)
- First Aid or Health & Safety qualification
