Our client, an independent firm of Chartered Accountants, based in Leeds, have a fantastic full-time Semi Senior Accountancy position available. They are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is looking for the next step in their accountancy career, to join their hard working and friendly team .
You will have excellent communication and people skills, as great client relationships are essential to the service that they offer. The firm is a multi-disciplined professional services company which includes Chartered Accountants, Tax Advisers, Financial Planners and Legal professionals working across nine locations throughout Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Job Purpose:
The role will specifically involve the preparation of accounts and tax returns for small to medium sized businesses and their owners. They use Iris practice software, so existing knowledge of Iris would be useful, although not essential. The day-to-day responsibilities for the role include:
▪ Preparation of financial statements for small and medium sized limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
▪ Corporation tax calculations and submissions
▪ Preparation of management accounts & VAT returns
▪ Self Assessment tax returns
▪ Potential to attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
▪ Assist with training of apprentices
▪ Company Secretarial Duties (desirable)
▪ Preparation of P11ds (desirable)
▪ Payroll experience (desirable)
▪ Any other general accountancy/administrative work as required We would expect candidates to have good knowledge and experience of cloud based book-keeping packages such as QuickBooks and Xero.
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
▪ At least 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
▪ Experience of Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks, Iris, Sage Business Cloud an advantage
▪ Strong Attention to Detail
▪ Excellent Time Management Skills
▪ Exceptional Communication Skills with a good telephone manner
▪ Good written and technical Skills
▪ Strong Prioritisation and Organisation Skills
▪ Ability to Handle Confidential Information
▪ Strong Record Keeping Skills
Qualifications: The position would be a perfect fit for an AAT qualified individual looking to progress their career. They would also consider offering a training contract with ICAEW or ACCA, meaning the role would be ideal for an AAT qualified person looking to progress further with their studies.
