Andy File Associates Ltd is acting as a recruitment agency on behalf of our client to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk for a permanent position based in Chesterfield
Job Description:
As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the finance team, and assisting in the smooth running of day-to-day business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase and sales ledgers
- Post supplier invoices and promptly resolve any related queries
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Process sales invoices and manage the sales order backlog
- Carry out credit control duties
- Process bi-monthly direct debit runs
- Perform daily bank reconciliations
- Answer telephone calls and handle general enquiries
- Carry out general administrative duties, including filing and managing post
- Provide ad-hoc support to ensure the smooth running of the finance department
- Using mainly an internal CRM system along with XERO accounting software
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant role
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- AAT qualified
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary: up to £30,000 per annum
