Our client is one of the UK’s leading independent aerospace and industrial forgers. The unique feature about our client is the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location. Operating from a 680 000ft2 facility in Sheffield, they manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector.
Main Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Production Control Manager, you will prioritise and plan workload on forge production units, based on requirements of Production Control.
Key Accountabilities
- Implementing and maintaining the computerised planning system to maintain departmental production schedules, forecast sales, customer update information.
- Daily liaison with production departments to ensure plan is maintained or issues are reported and acted on appropriately.
- Management and expediting of orders from order receipt to despatch, including communication with NPI team prior to production.
- Work with wider production control team to ensure all ancillary functions are kept at an appropriate standard. This can include but is not limited to stock control, management of sub-contractors, liaising with customers and continuous improvement projects covering a wide range of activities.
- Responsible for paperwork control, issue of paperwork to operations.
- Feedback progress to business and management team.
- Take reasonable care of own health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work, co-operate with others in the company to fulfil our statutory duties and not interfere with, misuse or wilfully damage, anything provided in the interest of health and safety.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Educated to 5 GCSE’s A-C or equivalent, including Maths and English.
