PRODUCTION COST ANALYST
Objective: To collect, manage, continually improve and distribute material costing data in order to improve the profitability of the company
Job Brief
Our client is looking for a production cost analyst to help them analyse in house produced materials at their 3 UK sites.
You’ll be the go-to person for cost analysis and you’ll will prepare reports to help management make better decisions. To do this job well, our client would like you to be well-versed in product costing and financial analysis, and have strong attention to detail.
Ultimately, your job will be an integral part of their efforts to ensure profitability and business success.
Reporting directly to the CFO you will also be expected to interact with the production planning, sales and procurement teams.
Responsibilities
Carry out monthly material valuation routines
Estimate product costs for existing and new products
Analyse and investigate daily loss making or low margin sales
Investigate variances between stand and actual costs
Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall product costs
Assisting in refining the sales quotation procedure for self-produced items in line with actual costs
Continual improvement of the data gathering, system structure and reporting
Requirements and Skills
Proven experience as a cost analyst, cost specialist or similar role
Knowledge of accounting processes and software
Strong analytical skills
A business acumen
Great attention to detail
Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field
Experience
Proven experience in a similar role
Additional Knowledge
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) packages an advantage
SAP Experience (S4/Hana or R3) and advantage
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 8.30 am - 5.00pm
