Operations Manager/Key Account Manager
Job purpose
Responsible for all contract cleaning services which include internal cleaning, external cleaning, the post reports to the Director and its main objectives are:
- To ensure the provision of responsive, professional, and efficient Cleaning Services to Clients to ensure that a high standard of cleaning is delivered and to have direct responsibility for the day-to-day management of all Cleaning Services staff.
- To develop a customer service engagement with all clients base and preparing reports for Key Accounts.
- To develop a culture within Cleaning Services on customer focused service delivery and promote a professional image of the business.
- To liaise and grow the business working alongside Sales ad the Director.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a list of your primary duties and responsibilities. Please remember that you are part of a larger Management team that the list below is not exhaustive, and we should therefore be willing to help and assist all our colleagues in other teams within the business at any time.
- To manage both quality and financial aspects of all contracts within the remit of the role and provide assistance to the Director in retendering and specification development.
- To ensure systems are in place to manage daily working hours and annual leave requests from Cleaning Services staff, so that service levels and continuity are always maintained giving a continued service to clients.
- To ensure that all Cleaning Managers maintain Services and that staff receive induction and refresher training to enable them to deliver effective Cleaning Services and to ensure staff attendance at all mandatory and departmental training.
- To be responsible for HR related activities in line with company policies and procedures including monitoring staff sickness and absence levels and ensuring appropriate action is taken when sickness levels fall within the trigger points; timely staff recruitment and selection; ensuring staff appraisals are carried out and ensuring disciplinary matters and disputes are effectively managed in accordance with procedures and passed on to the next stages.
- To monitor the professional standards of Managers and Cleaning Services staff and their service delivery through a formal audit system, to ensure that appropriate levels of performance and response times are maintained and that the quality of work meets the required standard.
- To assist and select any cleaning systems, materials and equipment in line with purchasing requirements and ensure equipment and systems are adequately trialled prior to purchase to ensure they meet user requirements and provide value for money.
- To raise requisitions and authorise invoice payments for services provided, in line with centre financial instructions.
- To ensure that adequate systems are in place to manage and control the supply and distribution of cleaning products, equipment and consumables throughout the business.
- To ensure that all Cleaning Services staff have an adequate supply of uniform, and that uniform is worn to reflect the professional image of Cleaning Services.
- To maintain active links with professional networks at local and national level and keep abreast of all relevant service developments that impact on the delivery of Cleaning Services.
- To maintain responsibility for own personal development, including membership of relevant professional bodies.
- To ensure compliance to all relevant policies and procedures, legislative requirements and standards.
- To undertake other reasonable additional tasks and duties as directed.
Communication and Interpersonal skills
- To initiate and maintain effective communications systems for staff within Cleaning Services.
- To monitor and evaluate delivery of Cleaning Services on an ongoing basis, maintaining close liaison with stakeholders as well as other managers within the management team. To investigate and respond to any complaints and to review services and deliver changes or liaise with others for change that will focus and improve the overall Cleaning Services provision.
