this exciting opportunity on behalf of our client, a reputable furniture installation company based in Kent.
They are currently seeking a skilled Contract MIG Welder to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding to manufacture and assemble furniture components according to company specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and welding instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Ensure all welding work complies with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Prepare materials and work areas prior to welding tasks, including cleaning and setting up equipment.
- Collaborate with the installation team to support the assembly and installation process as required.
- Maintain welding equipment, reporting any faults or issues for prompt repair.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation related to welding operations.
- Adhere to project deadlines whilst maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in MIG welding, ideally within a manufacturing or furniture-related environment.
- Knowledge of reading technical drawings and welding specifications.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures related to welding and fabrication.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in welding work.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Numerate and capable of accurately measuring and marking materials.
- Welding qualifications or certifications relevant to the role are preferred but not essential.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
(Fridays off — long weekends or overtime every week )
- Location : Hythe Kent CT21
- £13.66 - £14.00 ph plus overtime when available
- 4-day work week
