Manufacturing Engineer
£30-£40k Sheffield S6
37.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 16:00, Friday 07:30 – 13:00)
Our client is now seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their dedicated, specialist team. The successful
candidate will be involved in the full range of generalist and specialised duties of a manufacturing / production engineer and will make an essential contribution to their products and processes for the benefit of their customers.

Key responsibilities
Taking accountability for allocated engineering project work and improvements; producing results in a timely manner
Creating engineering drawings; participate in the testing of products and taking final prototypes to full production; implementing manufacturing improvements.
Collaborating with other teams to develop prototypes; ensuring that they are suitable for various downstream manufacturing processes.
Actively supporting the handover of new products / processes into the manufacturing environment
Summary
Programming CNC machines and supporting the Production team in verifying programmes and finding solutions to day-to-day problems, acting as technical support for manufacturing personnel.
Ensuring comprehensive documentation is produced throughout all processes
Participating in continuous improvement projects, using lean methods.
Key Requirements
You will have an established background in engineering within a manufacturing environment and be qualified in a relevant discipline, preferably to degree level. As an experienced engineer, looking for improvements and new technical solutions will come naturally to you.
You are enthusiastic about what you do, have a positive can do attitude and with adaptability and resilience when under pressure.
Experienced in CAD packages (i.e. Solidworks or similar)
Experience of programming CNC machines and providing technical support to manufacturing / production
Good team working skills and be able to work collaboratively
Well-developed problem solving skills
An understanding of manufacturing software
Knowledge or experience working with medical devices manufacture, assistive furniture or postural support products would be desirable as would knowledge of medical device regulations, however this is not essential
