Role Purpose
The successful Legal Secretary will provide integral administrative support to the Head of Department and fee earners within the Clinical Negligence team. You will be responsible for being the person who the claim handlers go to, to manage their time, and paperwork and be the first point of contact for enquires their cases relate to. This is ideal for candidates with secretarial experience in legal or other professional service roles
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Responsibilities will include producing high quality and timely correspondence, responding to telephone calls and email enquiries, completing forms and preparing Court documents and electronic bundles, undertaking audio and copy typing of letters and documents, undertaking diary management tasks, dealing with file opening processes and invoicing and billing procedures.
- Experience of or ability to administer and progress cases using the companies CRM/Management System is essential.
- Candidates must have experience in working in a secretarial role, ideally within a legal or Personal Injury department not essential
- In addition, candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a confident and proactive approach, and the ability to apply a high level of attention to detail in their work.
Abilities, skills and knowledge:
- Managing a varied and busy workload
- Handling phone calls and client inquiries
- Performing audio typing and transcribing legal documents
- Providing administrative support, such as scheduling and correspondence
- Assisting the Team Leader and Fee Earners with document preparation and organisational task
