Business Development Manager
Overview:
Our client is one of the most respected names within the Play industry and are proud to have worked on many of the world’s leading play areas ranging across locations in the UK, Middle East and India. They are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Business Development Manager with a proven track record to join their team. Working closely with the sales team and the inhouse landscape architects you will have the freedom to work remotely whilst at the same time having the support of the core team at their HQ. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering exceptional service that aligns with their brand values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Business Development: Identify, approach, and secure new business opportunities across Greater London, the South of England and East Anglia. This includes engaging with local authorities, leisure attractions, architects, landscape designers, and other key stakeholders
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients. Understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that enhance outdoor play experiences
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with our design and installation teams to ensure client projects are executed to the highest standard, from concept to completion
- Market Research: Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the play equipment sector
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to promote our products and brand.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales strategies and promotional campaigns
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective clients
- Monthly meetings will also take place at our Sheffield office and overnight stays will be required depending on the business needs
- Some overseas travel may also be required
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record in specification sales, preferably (but not essential) within the play industry, outdoor design, or related industries
- Good understanding of specification sales and the process from design to project completion
- Strong ability to build and maintain client and contractor relationships
- Self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic about outdoor play and design
- Work well as an individual and well as part of a team
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Full UK clean driving license is essential, as travel across the South of England and Greater London will be required.
