Area Sales Engineer
Location: South of England, could suit someone in and around Oxfordshire.
Our client is a World leading Manufacturer of Abrasives and Metal Powders.
Their products are supplied into a broad range of Worldwide industries, including automotive, aerospace, foundry industry and powder coating to name but a few. They currently seek a Sales Engineer to cover their Southern area. The area covered is considerable covering half of the UK where we service their industrial based customers. They therefore have a high demand for visiting and maintaining established business. Expected to be stopping away 3-4 nights a week.
The core functions of this role include: -
- Provide pre-sales, technical assistance, product education and aftersales support.
- Territory planning to visit and present to existing and prospective customers.
- Identifying new clients, who might benefit from company products or services and maximising client potential in designated regions.
- Developing long term relations with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements.
- Maintaining awareness of product applications, technical services, market conditions and competitor activity.
- Prepare reports for our UK office.
- Liaise with other members of the sales and administration team, along with technical experts.
Background and Experience
- Ideally technical sales based, working within a surface preparation or allied industry, including foundries, paint or metal spraying, blast cleaning or metal powder sales.
- Working with machinery or being mechanically minded.
- Clean and full driving licence.
- Self-motivated.
- Good technical skills or the ability to absorb information and work hard to learn the requirements of the position.
A sound educational background is required. Report writing, good communication skills and being able to get on with all levels.
Training will be given to a suitable applicant.
£45,000 - £50,000. Company car and pension will be provided.
